Looks like a female Red-winged Blackbird.. Are you sure about the Waterthrush..? It's a beautiful capture :o)

I checked the National Geographic field guide for birders and it's a close one. But I think the markings and it's location , south Florida, eliminated the red winged black bird. I haven't seen many of them this far south.
