Description
The adult Mandarin male is a striking and unmistakable bird. So beautiful it almost doesn't seem real. I Photographed this Mandarin at a bird sanctuary. They are native to Japan, China and eastern Russia. Mandarin Ducks, which are referred to by the Chinese as Yuan-yang are frequently featured in Oriental art and are regarded as a symbol of conjugal affection and fidelity.
