This orb spider waits until the stillness of the dark to begin to spin it's complicated web. Not an ordinary location. Out across a large open area between a palm tree and a parked automobile. It attaches it's web by invisible strands of silk fixed to any still object. It does not have to wait long for a moth or other insect to tangle itself into it's web. Then before dawn it politely takes it down and removes all evidence of it's existence. During the next few days it will dine on the variety of insect it had captured, gift wrapped and stored in a near by nest. © jgholland 2013.
