Artist's Description
The Limpopo is the second largest river in Africa that drains to the Indian Ocean, after the Zambezi River. At the north-eastern corner of South Africa the river borders Kruger National Park. The two photographers in this scene would be underwater in the wet season. At Crook's Corner the Limpopo is home to hundreds of crocodile and hippo making crossing it a very hazardous journey.
Crooks Corner can be found in the Kruger Park at the most north eastern tip which is the border with Zimbabwe and Mozambique. It is truly beautiful and has a wonderful history because of its remote location. Criminals would escape capture by crossing the treacherous river from South Africa into either Zimbabwe or Mozambique.
